Interim Government Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus had a courtesy meeting with Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman.
Today, Wednesday (March 19), they met at the guest house Jamuna.
During the meeting, the Army Chief briefed the Chief Adviser on the overall security situation of the country and the ongoing activities of the army. Additionally, they discussed various steps taken by the army for the development and stability of the country.
The Army Chief also informed the Chief Adviser about his recent visit to the Central African Republic. He expressed optimism that the visit would play a significant role in improving the relationship and enhancing military cooperation between the two countries.
The Army Chief briefed the Chief Adviser on the evaluation and recommendations of the high-level council regarding the justice for various deprived army officers, as well as the ongoing progress of the high-level council concerning the dismissal of JCOs and other army personnel for various reasons.
Lastly, the Chief Adviser was informed about the various measures taken by the Bangladesh Army to treat students and citizens injured during the July-August mass uprising.
The Chief Adviser praised the army's role and contributions, providing necessary guidance for their future actions. He expressed hope that the army would continue to carry out its duties with professionalism and integrity, ensuring the country's sovereignty and security.
