A steering committee has been formed for the Rampura-Hatirjheel Press Club in the capital.
In the 13-member committee, Akhinur Akter, City Reporter (Rampura) of Daily Jugantor, has been appointed as the Convener, SM Russell Ahmed, Reporter of Daily Chitra, as Joint Convener, and Ashraful Islam, Reporter of Bijoy TV, as the Member Secretary.
On Monday evening, a meeting was held at the temporary office of the Rampura-Hatirjheel Press Club in Rampura, Dhaka, chaired by Mohammad Masud, the Adviser and Editor of Daily Shobuj Bangladesh. Several important decisions were made during the meeting.
The committee was tasked with drafting the constitution within one week. Additionally, an independent election commission will be formed to hold elections for the formation of the full committee by March 23, 2025, Friday. This will involve reporters/representatives from various print, electronic, and online media outlets.
