A new political party, led by the students who spearheaded the July uprising, will be officially announced at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 28, from Manik Mia Avenue in the capital.
This information was shared during a press conference held on Monday, February 24, at the National Citizen Committee's central office in Banglamotor. The press conference was led by the chief organizer of the National Citizen Committee, Sarjis Alam.
He stated that the new party would take its oath at 3 p.m. on February 8 at Manik Mia Avenue.
Sarjis Alam further emphasized that a strong political party is essential for the establishment of a new Bangladesh. He said, "With the spirit of the July movement and the dream of a new Bangladesh envisioned on August 5, we want to build a Bangladesh that is shaped by the blood of thousands of martyrs, the result of a long struggle."
He also mentioned that the launch event for the new political party will be attended by members of various political parties, family members of martyrs, domestic and foreign diplomats, and expatriate Bangladeshis.
