The "Hab Oikkya Kalyan Porishod," led by Syed Golam Sarwar, has won the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) election with a huge margin.
A total of 701 HAB members exercised their voting rights for 24 central committee positions (21 in the Dhaka region and 3 in Chittagong) and 13 positions in the Dhaka regional committee.
Voting began at 9 AM on Saturday (22nd February) at the Institute of Diploma Engineers (IDEB) auditorium in Kakrail, Dhaka. After a continuous voting process until 4 PM, the results of the bi-annual election of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) were announced.
In the declared results, the panel leader Syed Golam Sarwar received 301 votes, while his closest rival, Faruk Ahmed Sardar of the "Hab Oikkya Forum," received 230 votes.
Following changes in the political landscape of the country, the owners of Hajj agencies voted enthusiastically to elect their representatives.
It is worth noting that three panels participated in the election: Faruk Ahmed Sardar's "Hab Oikkya Forum," Syed Golam Sarwar's "Hab Oikkya Kalyan Porishod," and MA Rashid Shah Samrat's "Hab Baisomyo Birodhi Ganatantrik Jot."
