Saif Ali Khan was severely injured after being stabbed at his own home. After five days, the Mumbai police have finally arrested the attacker.
The suspect was arrested early Sunday morning (January 19) in the Thane area.
According to Hindustan Times, the police stated that Mohammad Sajjad, in an attempt to avoid capture, had changed his name and was introducing himself as Vijay Das. However, his efforts to escape were in vain.
After the operation, a Mumbai police officer informed the media that the man was found sleeping in a patch of dry grass in a forest area in Thane. He was arrested from that location.
The police claimed that a sharp weapon resembling a sickle and a towel were recovered from the suspect. After his arrest, the young man confessed to the police that he was the one who entered Saif and Kareena's house and attacked them. However, the reasons behind the attack are still unclear. The police have taken him into custody for further interrogation.
It is worth noting that the attack on Saif Ali Khan occurred late at night on Wednesday, January 15. The actor was stabbed six times with a knife. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and surgery was successfully performed. He is now recovering and in stable condition.
